Burning Bowl Ceremony
For those who will not be able to attend our Burning Bowl Ceremony December 31, I wanted to share a little about the ritual. It is my favorite way to end a year and begin a fresh new year.
First, you will need a large bowl. You can either build a small fire of set a candle in the bowl. Light the fire and allow it to burn as you begin the ritual.
Next, I like to take time to listen to relaxing music and journal about the year. Then, I write on strips of paper things that I would like to release. This may be emotions such as fear or regret. It may also be recognizing the end of a phase of life. For those in recovery, it may be behaviors that you want to give up.
Then, I hold the pieces of paper over the fire and burn them one by one. As the paper burns, I visualize letting go.
At times, I will incorporate drumming into this ritual.
Next, I work on creating a vision board for things that I would like to bring into my life in the upcoming year.
Hope that this idea inspires you to find your own way to celebrate this transition into 2021.
