I believe that everyone is capable of change when they want to work at it. I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals and become the person they want to be. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you are free to express yourself however you are most comfortable. I tend to focus on goal-setting with my clients and generalized talk therapy, but adjust my approach depending on client neesds.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Olivet Nazarene University and my Master's degree in School Counseling from Liberty University. I do not subscribe to any religion, as my degrees might make it seem, but I am always willing to incorporate religion into sessions if my clients feel that it is a source of comfort or motivation in their life. I am licensed as a School Counselor (K-12) in the state of North Carolina and a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina (LCMHCA), I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Outside of counseling, I also have experience as a college basketball player, a middle/high school basketball coach, and a Morgan's Message at-large ambassador. With this background, I love to counsel athletes on keeping their life balanced and not letting their mental health fall to the wayside.
In my work as a high school counselor in addition to my work as a clinical counselor associate, I especially love working with teenagers and young adults. However, I am open to working with any age group, racial/ethnic background, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
I am currently taking clients for in-person or telehealth sessions!
